not ones you recruit using the normal hero recruitment mechanics but your main character and the story followers, because those you can often take to your next mission and starting missions with higher-level heroes is helpful. Honestly, it's not that different from random maps, even the maps are semi-random, you just have some scripted competition and events on top of the normal gameplay.
